Dams

I've been working on some small pieces that are sort of tests for a larger project I want to work on. They're in the kiln right now so I don't have any pictures but I found this photo on the internet that is somewhat similar. The glaze is going to look really good.

Isn't this a photograph of the Saint Francis Dam near Santa Clarita, California, that burst in about 1926, killing 500+ people as it raged 30 miles west to the ocean in Ventura? (How's that for a sentence?) I heard it was the second largest national disaster in California history after the San Francisco earthquake, as far as numbers of lives lost -- yet I never heard of it until I moved to Santa Clarita eight years ago, even though I'm a California native.
